Zeus enables the field fitting of pre-polished 1.25mm and 2.5mm ferrules, on both SM and MM fibre and cable. The key to this system is Diamond's advanced "crocodile alberino" fusion ferrule assembly. The ferrule assembly, which is available in both PC and APC versions, provides a factory polished end face for low insertion loss and back reflection, as well as splice protection features. The fusion splice is performed and protected within the ferrule assembly eliminating the need for expensive and bulky splice housing, trays, holders, protectors, and fibre management.
The F-3000TM LC FUSION is a small form factor connector which allows you to quickly and easily make field terminations with the performance you expect from Diamond-quality F-3000TM connectors. The key to this system is Diamond's advanced "crocodile alberino" 1.25mm fusion field ferrule assembly. The ferrule assembly consists of a factory-terminated fibre end face, fibre stub, and integrated splice protection. The fibre end face is core-centered via Diamond's well-known Active Core Alignment process and factory-polished to the company's precise specifications. The F-3000TM LC FUSION is then field terminated via a low loss fusion splice using the new Diamond Zeus Fusion Field Termination Kit.
The new Crocodile Splice Unit is a Diamond device (patent pending) which provides a simple way to repair and install fibre optic fibres and cables as well as to add cable extensions to existing fibre optic installations. When used for repairs, replacing already installed cables can be avoided.
This remarkably reduces maintenance expenses and wasted time while re-establishing interrupted fibre optic connections.
The Crocodile Splice Unit can be terminated using the ZEUS Fusion Field Termination Kit and only a few additional tools and accessories. The Crocodile Splice Unit is available for SM and MM Tight Buffered (TB) fibres 600/900μm and cables (1.6-to 3.1 mm).
Diamond also have a ferrule assembly for F-3000TM connectors (LC compliant) which can be used in substitution to a standard Break-out cable within ducts of very small size or to be blown into microducts, offering an easy and reliable solution to perform FTTx installations. After installation, the F-3000 RS ferrule assembly can easily and rapidly be connectorized, avoiding time-consuming and expensive field termination tools and equipments.
