The E-2000™ fibre optic connector system has been developed to cover all requirements of telecommunication, CATV & LAN applications. It incorporates numerous innovative features to address the needs of users. Its injection moulded housing has a positive latching mechanism whereby the connector is removed only by action on the thumb latch. In addition both the adaptor housing and the thumb latch can be colour coded to aid fibre/circuit identification.
A spring loaded protection cap offers laser safety to users and has proved a popular feature with Health and Safety professionals concerned with laser risks. These features combined with the unique ferrule technology with active core alignment during termination means that optical fibres can be perfectly mated. The E-2000 can be terminated onto singlemode or multimode fibre, on buffered and ruggedised cable or directly onto optical devices.
The 0.1 dB version has been developed for the most advanced Telecommunication/CATV/DWDM technologies with extremely high transmission values (bandwidth). This fibre optic connector which guarantees a 0.1dB insertion loss, time after time, is ideal for high power transmissions.
Recently introduced, the E-2000 IP65 Mating Adapter provides a new level of dust and moisture protection for the fibre. The dust caps house ‘O’ rings which are applied to the ferrule and there is a further ‘O’ ring in the zirconia split sleeve.
